Through our friends at the Aquatic Biodiversity Group we can supply
a variety of temperate marine animals that are compatible with
Southern Knights and Southern Champions. The list below is a selection

Trachinops
caudimaculatus. Southern Hulafish
Small shoaling/schooling fish. Thrive in large numbers. Eat flake
feed, live or frozen brine shrimp. Not aggressive feeders and
therefore excellent tank mates for seahorses.
Notomithrax ursus. Decorator Crab
Decorator crabs are the ultimate underwater fashion gurus!
They continually decorate their carapace with anything and
everything
they can lay their claws on. No special keeping requirements.
Feed on just about anything and love to crop algae. Excellent
tankmates
for seahorses.
Fromia polypora. Yellow Gumby Star
Very similar in form to the tropical blue starfish but these
animals are bright yellow. Hardy species. Effective bottom
scavengers.
Nectria ocellata. Ocellata Star
With an amazing variation of colour this starfish is a must
have in any temperate reef system. Hardy species. Excellent
general
cleaners.
Pentagonaster dubeni. Orange Biscuit Star
Very bright and beautiful stars. Hardy species. Good bottom
cleaners. Excellent tank mate for seahorses.
Tosia australis. Australian Biscuit Star
Beautifully decorated biscuit stars. Hardy tank mates
and excellent cleaners.
Tosia magnifica. Magnificant
Biscuit Star
A larger version of the Australian variation.
Cenolia trichoptera. Crinoid
A very dynamic filter feeder that does very well in
colonies. Under normal aquarium conditions will
require only weekly
feeding with
a liquid filter feeder formulation.
Ophiomyxa australis. Brittle Star
Spectacular! Very active and dynamic features of
aquariums with long legs that protrude from substrate.
Large
specimens are gifted
cleaners.
Goniocidaris tubaria. Slate Urchin
Great invertebrates. No fuss to keep with no
special requirements. Often end up covered
in Caulerpa
or other algae. Excellent
tank cleaners.
Caulerpa spp. Various Caulerpas
Most Temperate Caulerpa's thrive with simple
fluorescent lighting systems. A very hardy
group that assimilate
excess nitrates
effectively. High fish stock loads usually
result in vibrant growth, so be
prepared to crop. Decorator crabs are good
for controlling
